Internet Slow Down and Weird Error Message - Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Help - BleepingComputer

Hi,

I apologize ahead of time for submitting a help request when you're all so busy.

Yesterday evening, the internet connection for my laptop was extremely slow.  I had trouble loading web pages on my browser.  That night, when I was done for the day, I shut down my laptop.  Before it could fully shut down though, windows informed me that there was a program preventing me from shutting down.  The weird thing is, the program didn't have a name (see attached file "image1".  Not my image but it's exactly what I saw).

After a little bit, the shut down procedure progressed but an application error popped up (see attached file "image2".  Again, it's not my image.  Instead of "explore.exe" it was "logonUI.exe".  The error message was the same though)

Fast forward to this morning, I still had the slow internet problems.  It was worse than last night.  After a few hours though, things seem to have calmed down and my internet is now usable again.

Am I infected or am I just paranoid?

Thanks again!
